Hello everyone my name is Vito Genna and I was lucky enough to be born in the beautiful, unique and charming Italy. I am originally from Trapani, Sicily.
My father Antonio and my grandfather Vito introduced me to the wonderful world of classic Alfa Romeo cars, it all started with a 1964 Giulietta Sprint 1.6 L Vito senior bought for himself.
I started driving from the age of 11 and immediately fell in love with the feeling of freedom that comes with it. I would play and dream with small cars all day long until one day I decided to build my own car, with the help of my father enjoying every second of it!
I will never forget my very first classic car: a silver Alfa Romeo Giulia 1750 GTV. I bought it only 4-5 years ago (2018), and I restored absolutely everything.
As you can all imagine the engine wasn’t very powerful because it was old, so we decided to install a Twin Spark from a 75, doing all the restoration and enhancing work. I experienced first hand the wonderful feeling of driving a classic car with a new modern engine.
That was only the beginning. After that classic car, I bought: Giulia 1.3 super, Fiat 124 Sport Coupe, Alfa Romeo 156 GTA, etcetera.
When I would drive my own Alfa Romeo Giulia 1750 GTV in my small village at 260km/h and an initial engine of 230 horsepower, it caught everyone’s attention. They all wanted to know my 50 year-old classic car secret…
Since then we have had to buy two bigger car garages because we needed more space, as we were getting more and more requests from Alfa Romeo aficionados from all over the world: Canada, Ireland, US, etc. Clients would cross the entire ocean just to see my car!
I searched for the best suppliers, always looking for premium quality, because “you can’t afford to live a second class life”. I believe that my determination and all the challenges I faced building my own Alfa Romeo classic car brought me to start VTI Engineering.
