High-Performance Cylinder Heads

We are experts in creating high-performance cylinder heads with a multi step approach. In particular, our expertise focuses on Nord Cylinder head (1300, 1600, 1750, 2000), GTA and Twin Spark heads (either 75 and 155). We have 3 tuning steps. The greatest majority of an engine power resides in its head. This concept is especially true for atmospheric engines.

Stage 1 - Swing Road

This includes:

  • A careful machining of the valve seats to ensure maximum air flow and, consequently, optimum gasket sealing. This happens by adjusting seat/valve interface angle with the aim to improve air-flow and reduce any fluidodyamic resistance.
  • Valves guides are machined too in order to improve flow on the intake side and exit of the exhaust gas.
  • Overall the head will be carefully checked in all its areas.
  • Followers substitution
  • Springs substitution
  • Caps substitution
  • Seals substitution

Flow improvement is expected to be ameliorated of 20-25% with this configuration.

All the faces will be grinded for optimal adherence. All Cylinder head is delivered in a Plug&Play configuration. This configuration is suitable for daily use and runs well even with 93/95 octanes gasolines (if compression ratio is not altered with respect to the original one).

Stage 2 - Fast-Road/Track-Day

This includes:

  • A careful replacing of the valve seats to ensure maximum air flow and, consequently, optimum gasket sealing. Seat/valve interface angle will be ameliorated with the aim to improve air-flow and reduce any fluidodyamic resistance.
  • Porting, by means of 5-axis robot, will be executed on both sides keeping in mind the the Venturi law, hence guaranteeing the proper velocity of the admitted A/G mixture and exiting of the heat-gases accordingly to the adiabatic decoupling principle.
  • Valves guides are ultra-machined too to improve flow on the intake side and exit of the exhaust gas.
  • I/E Valves are augmented in size accordingly to the engine capacity (compression ratio is recommended to be risen to 10.4:1) by installing our custom pistons.
  • Camshaft are replaced with sport ones. We will create your camshaft based on your needs. We do not install standard aftermarket parts, we will meet you needs and desire. Camshafts will be realized from scratch. All of our Fast-Road Cams are for a daily driving with gentle opening ramps for good idle and transition with no lag or flat spots. Our custom designs have progressively more top end. Camshafts specs such as, relative duration, total duration,  and base circle diameter will be specifically calculated to meet your needs.
  • Sport springs are installed. Our High-Performance High-Rev Silicone/Chrome valve springs help prevent valve float and improve power in race and street high-performance engines to 8000+ rpm.
  • Followers will be chemically treated via a process aimed to harden the surface of a metal components with the consequent benefit of an increasing wear and fatigue resistance. Nitrogen-based salts are used to donate carbon to the workpiece surface making salt bath a nitrocarburizing process. The temperature used  in this process namely nitrocarburizing  spans from 560 to 580 °C.
  • Seals will be substituted.

Flow improvement is expected to be ameliorated of 28-32% with this configuration. This configuration is still compatible with >95 octane gasoline (unless Compression Ratio is altered). We recommend using our custom pistons to match the desired CR.

All the faces will be grinded for optimal adherence. Cylinder head is delivered in a Plug&Play configuration.

We recommend the driver/pilot to improve carburettors performance too. Contact us for this service, we can either improve yours or provide a new set of carburettors improved to match head specs.

Stage 3 - RACE

This includes:

  • A careful replacing of the valve seats to ensure maximum air flow and, consequently, optimum gasket sealing. Seat/valve interface angle will be ameliorated with the aim to improve air-flow and reduce any fluidodyamic resistance. Here, we will use Beryllium-Copper based valves seats. Beryllium copper seats are used in drag racing, NASCAR, Formula 1 and Indy racing because not only the material works well with titanium valves but has also a higher thermal conductivity than steel alloy seats. Potential difference between the two alloys (valves/seats) permit an instantaneously cooling of the valves. Emert says average combustion temperatures in a street performance engine can range from 760°C to 960°C.
  • Porting, by means of 5-axis robot, will be executed on both sides keeping in mind the the Venturi law, hence guaranteeing the proper velocity of the admitted A/G mixture and exiting of the heat-gases accordingly to the adiabatic decoupling principle.
  • Dimpling will be performed on intake side while polishing will be performed on the exhaust side to further accelerate exiting of exhaust gases.
  • Combustion Chambers will be equilibrated to guarantee same volumetric properties.
  • Valves guides are ultra-machined too to improve flow on the intake side and exit of the exhaust gas.
  • I/E Valves are augmented in size accordingly to the engine capacity (compression ratio is recommended to be risen to 10.4:1) by installing our custom pistons. Valves will have a reduced stem diameter for improved performances and will undergo a nitrocarburizing process (see below)
  • Camshaft are replaced with race ones. We will create your camshaft based on your needs. We do not install standard aftermarket parts, we will meet you needs and desire. Camshafts will be realized from scratch. Our custom designs have progressively more top end. Camshafts specs such as, relative duration, total duration,  and base circle diameter will be specifically calculated to meet your needs. More in general, pour race camshafts will provide good torque and power from ~4500 and pulls to up to 7000 rpm.
  • Race springs are installed. Our High-Performance High-Rev Silicone/Chrome valve springs help prevent valve float and improve power in race and street high-performance engines to 8200+ rpm.
  • Teflon will constitute the main material for seals.

Flow improvement is expected to be ameliorated of 28-32% with this configuration. This configuration is still compatible with >95 octane gasoline (unless Compression Ratio is not altered)

All the faces will be grinded for optimal adherence, followers, springs and caps will be substituted with stock ones. All Cylinder head is delivered in a Plug&Play configuration.
